Lodging and Transportation

The following maps and locations should help you plan your transit to and from the conference.

Airport <-> Hotel Transportation

The John Glenn International Airport (CMH) is 10 miles and 16 minutes from the Blackwell Inn Hotel. You can use a taxi or ride-share service for about $35 or….

Airport <-> Hotel by Bus

There are combinations of busses to get from the airport to the Blackwell Inn Hotel, all taking about 75-90 minutes. You would grab the #7 bus at the airport and then switch downtown to the 1, the 2 or the 8 to head north. For up to date plans please refer to your favorite app. Because there are two bus systems (and a University one) the combo app with up to date arrival times is Transit. The COTA busses listed above are tap to pay (credit card or phone) and $2 for a two hour pass. When you transfer just tap the same payment method and it will not charge you again, and will acknowledge you have a ticket already.

Hotel <-> Conference

The Blackwell Inn is on the OSU Campus, making it easy to get to the Conference site each day. Depending on preference, mobility, and weather, you can either walk or jump on a campus bus.

The walk is about 0.7 miles and 16 minutes through campus bringing you to the west side of the building (see details below). It is a nice and generally safe stroll.

To take the Campus Bus, you will cross West Woodruff Ave and wait at the Knowlton Hall stop. From there if you get on the BE or CC Bus heading east, you will ride two stops to High and 15th and get off where you are just a few feet from Sullivant Hall. The OSU bus is free and runs every few minutes.

To get back to the Hotel via bus is a bit more complicated. You can either get back on the BE bus at High and 15th and wait for it to do a short loop before heading back towards the hotel – riding 4 stops to the Mason Hall drop off point. Or you can walk a couple blocks south to the 12th Ave stop at Drinko Hall and ride the CC or BE to Mason Hall.

Sullivant Hall Building Access

Sullivant Hall has two entrances useful for accessing the Collaboratory, one entrance on the east side of the building along High St., and one on the west side tucked between a couple of buildings. They are both on the first floor and have no steps. The other building entrances will not get you to the conference space.

Parking

This is a university campus, so parking is expensive. There are a few hourly rate options near Shwayder Art Building. Parking will be most difficult Thursday, and be much easier Friday and Saturday. There are a few slots along East Asbury, indicated at #317 on this map. The other option is in the parking lot at the corner of East Asbury and Gaylord indicated as L/#321.
